Fast-Setting Hydraulic Water Plug

Fibre-Patch WP

Fast-setting hydraulic mortar for stopping active water leaks in concrete and masonry before permanent repair or waterproofing.

Technical basis FIBRE-PATCH WP
  • Stops active water flow through cracks, penetrations, joints, tunnels, tanks, basements, and retaining walls.
  • Final set is less than 5 minutes under ASTM C191 conditions.
  • Acts as the first step before reprofiling and permanent waterproofing with compatible Gemite systems.

Decision Summary

When to specify Fibre-Patch WP

  • Water is actively entering the structure.
  • Other repair layers cannot be installed while the leak continues.
  • The work needs a rapid plug before a full waterproofing system.

Core Uses

Active leak control, emergency plugging, and repair preparation

Active Leak Control

FIBRE-PATCH WP is the emergency first step, not the final waterproofing system. It is mixed in small portions and pressed into active leaks so the water flow stops before the main repair begins.

Repair Preparation

Once the leak is stopped, the plug must be followed by reprofiling and permanent waterproofing. GP or OV can rebuild the repair area, and Cem-Kote systems handle the durable waterproofing requirement.

Water-Retaining Structures

The product is used at cracks, penetrations, honeycombs, tanks, tunnels, basements, retaining walls, and similar locations where ordinary mortar would be washed out before it can set.

Comparison Block

How the material changes the specification

Trying to Patch Active Leaks: Common Limitations

  • Ordinary mortar is washed out before it develops enough strength.
  • Active water keeps enlarging the path and makes later waterproofing unreliable.
  • Skipping the permanent repair after plugging leaves the root cause untreated.

FIBRE-PATCH WP: Practical Value

  • Stops the active flow quickly so the surface becomes repairable.
  • Creates a controlled condition for reprofiling and final waterproofing.
  • Keeps emergency leak control inside the same Gemite repair sequence.

FAQ

Specification questions

Is WP the final waterproofing repair?

Usually no. It stops active water so the permanent repair or waterproofing system can be installed on a controlled substrate.

How fast does it set?

The stated initial set is about 3-5 minutes at 20 C. Colder or warmer conditions can change working time.

Can it be used in moving expansion joints?

No. Once set, it is a rigid hydraulic plug. Moving joints need a compatible flexible jointing solution.

Why is WP not considered the final waterproofing repair?

WP stops the active water flow. It does not rebuild the damaged profile or provide the complete long-term waterproofing layer, so the plug must be followed by reprofiling and permanent waterproofing.

Can it be used in moving joints?

No. WP becomes a rigid hydraulic plug after set. Moving expansion or movement joints need a compatible flexible jointing solution, not a rigid water plug.
